How it works

From enquiry to keys

Four steps. Nothing is charged to the tenant — our commission is paid by the owner.

You get in touch
WhatsApp or e-mail with the apartment you are interested in, your moving-in date, how many people, and what matters to you: parking, pets, furnishing.

Viewing
We propose a slot, usually within a few days. You visit the apartment and we answer on charges, deposit, parking and the dates of the lease.
3
Your file
Debt-collection register extract less than three months old, proof of income, ID, household insurance. We send you the exact list for that apartment.
4
Lease and keys
Ordinary lease in your name, inventory of fixtures, deposit paid into a blocked account in your name, keys handed over — then your arrival declaration at the population office.

An ordinary residential lease (art. 253 ff. CO) — the same contract a local resident signs, in your own name.

Before you apply

What does it cost me to apply?
Nothing. No agency fee is charged to the tenant — our commission is paid by the owner.
How long is the lease?
Furnished apartments are let for 3 to 12 months, classic apartments for 1 to 3 years. The dates and the rent are on each apartment card, and we confirm availability in writing before you sign.
Which documents will I need?
An extract from the debt-collection register less than three months old, proof of income or an employment contract, a copy of your ID or residence permit, and household insurance if you already have it. For a couple or shared apartment we ask for the same for each adult.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, at most three months' rent, paid into a blocked account in your own name (art. 257e CO) and released to you at the end of the lease. RivieraHost never holds it.
Are the apartments furnished?
Some are fully furnished and equipped — Le National in Montreux, for example — others are let unfurnished. Each apartment card states it; ask us before the viewing if anything is unclear.
Do I have to register with the commune?
Yes. As for any move in Switzerland you declare your arrival at the population office of your commune within 8 days. We hand you the lease and the inventory you need for that file.
Can I visit before deciding?
Yes — every apartment is visited on site, by appointment. No apartment is let without a viewing.
