The two paid venues
Every ticketed evening at MJF 2026 takes place in one of two venues, both within easy walking distance of the Montreux lakefront.
Auditorium Stravinski — the festival's main stage. Doors open at 19:30, shows start at 20:30. Seated and standing tickets available. Capacity: approximately 4,000. This is where the biggest headliners play — STING, Nick Cave, John Legend, Van Morrison, James Taylor.
Montreux Jazz Lab — the more intimate secondary venue. Doors open at 19:00, shows start at 20:00. Standing only. Smaller capacity, tighter sound, and a more eclectic bill — house music, jazz, soul, rap, and world music acts that don't fit the Stravinski format. The Jazz Lab regularly sells out; several 2026 dates are already on waitlist.
In addition to the paid concerts, the festival runs free stages along the Montreux lakefront throughout the 16 days, with live performances from afternoon into the night. These are open to anyone — no ticket required.

Tickets and prices
Tickets for both venues are sold through the official montreuxjazzfestival.com website. There is no official resale platform; avoid third-party sites unless you can verify authenticity.
Auditorium Stravinski tickets range from CHF 107 (Conan Gray on 7 July, the cheapest Stravinski date) to CHF 167 (STING on 4 July). Most headliner nights fall between CHF 127 and CHF 157. The Stravinski offers both seated and standing areas; standing is cheaper and fills fastest.
Montreux Jazz Lab tickets range from CHF 92 to CHF 137. The Jazz Lab nights featuring Marcus Miller (16 July), Gregory Porter (17 July), Ben Böhmer (9 July), and Adriatique (9 July) are already sold out — join the waitlist if those are your targets.
Subscription packages and multi-show passes are available for visitors planning to attend several concerts. Check the Billets & Offres section of the official site for current offers. Group bookings of ten or more can be arranged through the festival's group booking service.
Already sold out: RAYE (3 Jul Stravinski), STING (4 Jul Stravinski), Lewis Capaldi (14 Jul Stravinski), Moby (15 Jul Stravinski), Ben Böhmer + Adriatique (9 Jul Jazz Lab), Marcus Miller (16 Jul Jazz Lab). Waitlists are available on the official website — spots do open as buyers release tickets.
Getting to Montreux
Montreux is exceptionally well connected by rail. The festival venues are within a five-minute walk of Montreux train station.
- From Geneva: ~70 minutes by direct InterCity train. Trains run every 30 minutes throughout the day and into the evening.
- From Lausanne: ~25 minutes. Frequent connections throughout the day, including late-evening departures after concerts end.
- From Zurich: ~2 hours direct. Intercity trains run hourly.
- From Geneva Airport: Direct train to Montreux in approximately 80 minutes, including a change at Geneva Cornavin.
- By car: Motorway A9 runs directly to Montreux. Parking in the town fills quickly on concert nights — arriving by train is strongly recommended during the festival.
The festival also runs dedicated shuttle services between the lakefront, parking areas, and the casino district during peak evenings. Check the festival's practical information page for 2026 shuttle schedules.
Where to stay for MJF 2026
Montreux itself is the obvious base. Walking distance to both the Auditorium Stravinski and the Jazz Lab means no transport headaches after late shows. Vevey (12 minutes by train) and Lausanne (25 minutes) are alternatives if Montreux accommodation is fully booked.
Festival weeks are the most competitive on the Swiss Riviera calendar. Hotels book out months in advance, and short-term apartment rentals in the area command a significant premium — particularly for the first weekend (RAYE, STING) and the final weekend (Van Morrison, James Taylor). If you haven't booked yet, act fast.
Property owners in the area renting on Airbnb or Booking.com during the festival can expect substantially higher nightly rates and near-100% occupancy. If you're a Montreux property owner wondering how to maximise your rental income during the two festival weeks, see our detailed Jazz Festival rental income guide.
